Ad classification and review criteria

Which ads are sold on Cirtonia Business, at what hours they air and how they are reviewed.

Classification and hours on radio

Every ad sold on radio is given a classification, as audiovisual content is. The classification says at what hours it may air, in the station's local time. An ad without a classification is not sold on radio.

Classifications and the hours each may air
ClassificationAudienceHours on radio
AAChildren: suitable for girls and boysAt any hour
AGeneral audienceAt any hour
BAdolescents aged 12 and overFrom 16:00 to 06:00
B15Adolescents aged 15 and overFrom 19:00 to 06:00
CAdults aged 18 and overFrom 21:00 to 06:00
DAdults: extreme contentFrom 00:00 to 05:00

In addition, as Cirtonia's policy, alcoholic beverage ads only air on radio from 22:00 to 06:00.

In the Escucha app the classification does not limit the hours. The audiences an advertiser can choose start at age 18.

Version of the hour rules: CTO-POLICIES-2026-10-20.

What is not advertised

No ads are sold or written for these lines of business: Tobacco and vapes, Prescription medicines.

  • Ads that incite violence or crime, or promote trafficking, sexual exploitation or illicit products and services.
  • Electoral advertising on radio: Cirtonia Business never sells it.
  • Ads of a foreign government, unless their purpose is cultural, tourism or sports.
  • Advertising, promotion or sponsorship of tobacco, vapes or similar devices.
  • Content that promotes tobacco or vapes, even indirectly.
  • Prescription medicines, advertised to the general public.

Electoral blackouts

During the blackouts electoral authorities set, government and electoral advertising does not air on the days and in the places the blackout calendar marks, neither on radio nor in the app. The platform checks every purchase against that calendar before charging it.

A government ad may only air during a blackout with an exception approved for that ad, on one of these grounds: health, education, civil protection, the electoral authority's information; and with a lawyer's signed opinion.

How an ad is reviewed

Before it airs, every ad is reviewed. Artificial intelligence helps: it listens to or looks at the ad, compares it with these rules and points out what it finds.

AI never decides alone: a person at Cirtonia reviews what was pointed out and approves the ad, asks for changes or rejects it, and the advertiser sees what is asked of them.

Removal by order of an authority

If an authority orders an ad removed, the platform stops it everywhere, on radio and in the app, and pauses its campaigns; it returns only when the order is lifted. The evidence of every removal is kept.

Report an ad

Reports made from the Escucha app reach us through Cirtonia, counted by reason and with no details of who made them.

Outside the app you can report it here. Every report opens a case a person reviews.

The form to report an ad from the web is not available yet.
